Lopenik is a name of the wide crofter’s village on the slopes and the foothill of the Velky Lopenik hill, the second highest peak of Bile Karpaty. The village is set in the Lopenicke sedlo (saddle). The village has arisen from scattered hamlets in 1791 after consolidation of this area to Moravia. Majority of citizens used to earn their living by picking and selling herbs and producing wooden tools in past. There are some exhibits of folklore architecture as well as an educational trail passes the village with seven informative boards.
